MUDROOM MAKE-OVER

Here is a look at our mudroom now and before....we had food storage in here plus a shelf for coats...It was just really crowded. We did this back in June but I am now posting it. The desk I found at...can you guess..DI and redid it. Doug was so great to me by putting up the board and batten wall with the hooks. It looks so great now and each kid has there own little "Cubby" for stuff.

Mirror revamp

I love the mirror in our front room but have been wanting to add something to it. I have seen a lot of mirrors with the monograms and frames . I made my own version of one. I was able to use contact paper for the "M" because I ran out of white vinyl. It turned out good.

D.I. Find

I found this planter at D.I. and all of the jars . Painted and added the vinyl saying. I love this on my kitchen table. The best part is that it cost only $5.50 for it all.

5K FINISH

Well I did it. I ran a 5k. It was a lot of fun. The hill was huge we ran up but I think I did a pretty good job. My time was 37.22. Here are a few pics....they are backwards sorry

I saw these really cute flower balls here and thought maybe I would use an old lamp and make a cute shade for Chloe's room. Let me tell you…TIME CONSUMING. I think there are at least 50 of these things and each rolled by hand. I do love how it turned out though.

KITCHEN CABINETS

So we don't have any cabinets in our kitchen in a few spots. I was really hating the fact that you could see all of our "junk"....unless it is pretty to look at no one really needs to see it. So we put the cabinets on we had over the plates, etc. I totally hated it. So I decided to leave them as is, but everything we need to be a little more organized and pretty. After adding silver/gray wrapping paper to the backs of the shelves and a few containers. It looks really good now and I am loving it.

CEILING FAN FOR 2

In our Master bedroom we have this ceiling fan, that I really wanted to replace with a cute chandelier. Well Doug wasn't going to budge on this one. After looking at another blog
I knew what I was going to do. It keeps the function of things but adds a little pretty for me. The best part is that Doug didn't have to do any of it.

I am so excited to finally share with you the Idaho Falls temple portrait that my friend Christina did for me. You can find her site here. She does a great job and has many Utah and Idaho temple to choose from. I love how it looks on our mantel with my new topiaries (which I made). Thanks Christina.

The kids had a fun time Saturday decorating magnets that I got from Wal-Mart. The boys painted eggs and Chloe had flower and butterfly ones. It was a good activity because dad was gone all day and they needed something else to do bedsides fight with each other..

UPHOLSTERY

I found another steal at the D.I. for $8. I have been wanting a chair for our living room to sit in the corner by the fireplace. After taking it to a re upholstery place and deciding I didn't want to spend $170 to redo it...I know I was going to have to. After a six hour day of pulling all the staples out and taking it apart it was ready to go. The next day took just as long if not longer. I had to cut all the new fabric and staple it all back on. It was worth it though. The total cost of the project was $26 because the fabric was only $6 a yard..:) I love the chair now and looks awesome in it's new home..

CHEVRON PATTERN

If you haven't noticed...chevron pattern is quite the rage and I have been wanting to put it somewhere in my house. I decided the table upstairs needed a little something added to it. After finding a pattern online I printed it out, took it to the copy place to be put onto projector paper. After cutting it out by hand it was ready to go. I loved how it turned out and the best thing is it only cost me $1.00. Awesome redo.

BATHROOM PAINTING

I have been wanting to put a branch with birds in the upstairs bathroom, but was never able to find the size I wanted and they cost a lot of money. So...I did it myself. I borrowed an overhead projector from the church and traced the image onto the wall. After tracing and about 3 hours of painting it was complete. It adds a fun touch to the kids bathroom now.

LAUNDRY ROOM REVAMP

NEW LOOK

This little project took me 3 days. I painted a light blueish green called Morning Fog from Martha Stewart. Loved the color and how it turned out. I had so much stuff on my shelves so I found a new place for it all. I added a punch of black and white to the backs of the shelving with wrapping paper...cool huh, I guess if I get tired of it..just rip it out and put up something new...added a few more boxes and tags and don't forget my awesome find at the D.I. the little chandelier , sprayed it white added a cord cover and it looks so cute up. I also made a few basket covers for the laundry and the sign that says "Begin each day with a Smile" I love my new laundry room and it's a good thing because I have always hated to do laundry. Every time I go in there it makes me so happy....(sorry the first two pics are the new look)

I made a couple of pillows to go with my "eyelash" pillow because it felt a little lonely. They are made from a couple of shirts I had but didn't wear much anymore. Turned out cute.

Well D.I. had some good finds this time. I picked up a small chandelier ($8) that will probably go in my laundry room when I get it painted. I think the flowers and look of it is kind of growing on me. I also found this trio of candle holders for $3, they will get a coat of paint as well as soon as it warms up.

Last night Doug and I drove up to Logan, UT to meet up with some of his family. We meet at Elements Restaurant to eat. Very good food. After dinner we went over to watch

It was a funny show. We all enjoyed a little laughter. It was good to see everyone and visit. (Thanks for the invite and tickets Brett)

My goal was to have these for church...you know how it is...someone took the crayon that I was going to use. Now they each have there own. Jaxon will get one eventually when he stops eating them..

CHLOE'S NEW ROOM

So, I know it has been a very long time since I have posted anything. After moving, Christmas and lots of other things going on...maybe I will be a little better at doing this.

So here is Chloe's new room. After going back and forth to being upstairs then down then back up here is most of the room completed. I took my old magnet board and made an upholstered headboard for her. I added a fun touch with the tissue paper ball flowers above the bed and dresser. Found those cute letters in Hobby Lobby(on our way back from Denver) and so here you have it.

Chloe and I went for a pedicure spa day. This was a first for both of us and we enjoyed it a lot. We had the tropical pedicure with a sugar scrub and orange rub. It was great.

Jaxon is one month old today and is getting so big. His cheeks are growing too. He had is minor procedure today...his tongue clipped because he was tongue-tied. I think this will help improve his eating abilities now.

I am so relieved...the kids have finally gotten their seasonal flu shots. We got them at the Public Health Center and it was even better because it was the nasal mist...so much better for the kids than having a shot. I think I can relax now for awhile until there is more H1N1 available. We might have to go and try that for the boys. I guess we will see.

After our Super Saturday was over you would have thought that I would be sick of crafting...I guess not...I had a lot of things to finish up and I am finally done with them...It is amazing how much you can accomplish when a new baby is going to arrive.

The scarecrow doorhanger was a fun R.S. midweek activity we did in September.

The blocks I have had for a long time and finally did something with them.

The tree was a Super Saturday project that I am glad I completed that same day.

The snowman was one that I ordered and finally got it all put together.

All Broken Up

Well...I thought I would post this before we leave on vacation tomorrow...There are always exciting things happening in our house and for some reason they always involve Zach and not in good ways...to make a long story short Zach has a broken wrist thanks to his sister Chloe. They got a little too rough playing (is that what you would call it though) as usual Zach is usually the one hurt and he got hurt good this time. He wears a splint now for 10 days then goes back to the Dr. for another x-ray...I hope by then his hand will be healed up and okay

Doug and I had the opportunity to go to a JAZZ game about a month ago. We got to fly down, eat and watch the game from the 2nd row...it was a lot of fun.

We are so enjoying the snow that is melting away. Unfortunately it has decided that it needed to come into our house. Last night Doug and the guys were working hard at moving the snow off the back hill so it would stop coming into the house. I guess there's nothing like the yucky smell of wet carpet. Things are much better now that we are getting the problem fixed. I will be a happy person once all of the snow is melted.

I made the curtain not the valance for Zach's room then hung it from a branch. His room is being redecorated in a cowboy theme.
I made Chloe's curtain out of a sheet that she wasn't using.
I found this little cabinet at the craft store at 60% off. I painted, sanded, stained and added the flowers for a little book shelf for Chloe's room. Cute huh! I was so excited with the outcome

Mamma Mia! Girls Night Out

Tuesday about 10 lady's from our ward got together for a girl's night out. We met at 9:oo pm went to Johnny Carinos for dessert then over to the 10:30 pm showing of Mamma Mia. It was a fun movie especially if you love the music of Abba. I didn't get home until 1 in the morning. It was great.

Last Saturday Doug, the kids and I went up to Rexburg to visit family and have a little wet and wild time. The kids love playing at the water park in Rexburg. Porter thought he was in a bath the whole time and loved it.

Chloe has started T-ball and is really enjoying it. She is on an all girl team called the "Wildcats" just like the wildcats from High School Musical. There are 12 happy little girls on the team because of that.

The kids, Doug and I went up to Ashton on Memorial Day for a little fishing. The kids caught at least 2 themselves and we probably caught 10 all together. We went with some of our friends and their kids. It was a lot of fun for everyone!

Tonight we had a terrible storm come through. I was on the computer when the power went out and was turning it back on so I could finish what I was doing. As I was getting up I looked out the window to where our fence is...just then the wind was picking up and that wasn't the only thing that went up-our trampoline did too. It went up the hill and got caught on the horse trailer. It was funny because we have one of those nets that go around it so kids can't fall off. I think it might be done for.......
